Sometimes we can feel like our situations or lives are beyond help. But God has not changed. He is still faithful and He is our Redeemer. When we feel unworthy of God’s kindness we can remember that redemption isn’t earned. It is given. Freely.
This world is fallen but we don’t have to be. When we choose to be men and women after God’s own heart, we can be restored and used by God. And when we are the victim, even then we can be healed and restored.
Don’t be jealous of people’s skills or talents. When people are gifted in one way or another, and we all have specific gifts given – it is God using that person to bless His people. Every talent or skill we have was given for His will and His glory alone!
But God. Two small words with incredible potential. Don’t spend your life trying to avoid pain. If we live this life trying to avoid discomfort and pain, we forfeit the comfort of God that meets us when we suffer. When God is with us and we are aware of His promises, we know that He has overcome and we will, too, as we trust in His word.
The time is short, friends, though we might not perceive it. Life goes by in a flash. What matters most is the most important encounter of our life—meeting Jesus. Have you truly met Him? If so, you will never be the same. If not, I want to introduce you to Him. God loves you, friend. He has rescued us all so we can serve Him. This is why He made us—to know Him and serve our living God. There is no greater purpose than that. God has rescued us from ourselves so we will be holy and live righteous lives. Will you accept His rescue?
Happy Mother’s Day! When we don’t have answers to life’s dilemmas, encountering God is our place of refuge and truth. Everything comes into perspective when we lay down our lesser thoughts and ways and pick up God’s.
Even godly people can be led astray by the influences of our culture. Rationalization and making excuses for our shortcomings will never heal our spiritual waywardness. But recognition and repentance of our sins lead to restoration. Don’t follow after things of this world. There’s only One worth following, and His ways lead to eternal life.
The Ark of the LORD contained the presence of God, though God is everywhere. And we contain the Holy Spirit, though He is everywhere. Don’t forget that God is holy, friends. It matters how we live. His laws still stand. We aren’t righteous by obeying His laws, but by the blood of His precious Son. And don’t put God in a box. He is greater than words can define. May we not become so familiar with God that we forget it is just His incredible mercy that saved us.
We don’t have to live defeated lives. God has not left us alone without His counsel. We have His precious word and His Holy Spirit. But obeying God is more than just obeying laws. Laws govern our behavior but they cannot govern our hearts. We need the Holy Spirit to convict us of sin and righteousness. God invites us to govern ourselves with His word and Holy Spirit.
